We are happy to inform you that the b-boxes are finally ready and we have started shipping them!
We remind you that you will receive three different packages with all the components inside and that once the packages have been sent, you can find the tracking number of your b-box directly on your Backerkit profile.
To show you how to assemble your b-box, we made a video that will explain the step-by-step instructions. Here is the link to see it:

In the meantime, we are also continuing the production of b-boxes for the United States. We are doing everything possible to ship them by April, in time to start producing your honey in the spring.
So we want to wish you a lot of fun and a sweet adventure! In fact, it is the right time not only to find your swarm, but also to read some manuals and enroll in a beekeeping course, to start to get to know the world of bees more closely.

This last month has been a month of hard work. We have done all we could to try to catch up with the production and proceed with the expedition as soon as possible.
So, here are all the news we have for you!
99% of production is completed. We are now finishing the treatment of all wooden pieces with water-based impregnating agent, which guarantees a good resistance to rain and humidity without bothering the bees. After that, we will close the packages and proceed with the shipment.
For what concerns the delivery, the shipping company has provided us with the exact prices for each country and we could thus update Backerkit, the platform managing our relations with Backers. Backerkit is sending all Backers the e-mail with the form asking for the exact shipping address, the one that will be used by the couriers.
Check your email so you don't miss Backerkit's communications!
For the shipment we will follow the order in which the contributions were made on Indiegogo, starting with who first supported our campaign.
Have you already found your swarm and queen bee?
While waiting to receive your b-box, we suggest you start to get in touch with beekeeping associations or beekeepers and producers in your area, so as to request the swarm and receive the first indications on how to prepare for the arrival of spring. If you need some help for the research, we are at your disposal to provide you with some contacts!

Dear American Backers, as previously announced, we decided to totally rearrange the production batch with wood that complies with the new regulations on the import of wooden materials. Those hives with the wood used for other countries would not have crossed the American Customs. We took this decision despite the fact that your hives had already been in production for months. However, as the time frame has become much longer, we have decided not to charge you any additional costs. We have confirmed the order to our supplier and are waiting for the parts that meet American standards to arrive in our warehouse to proceed with the impregnation treatment. We keep you updated about more accurate delivery times. Thank you for your understanding.

here we are with our December news!
We are happy to inform you that our production has gone on without interruption and that your b-boxes are taking shape. The wooden parts are ready and we have received the Plexiglas parts from our supplier.

In recent updates we informed you about the unforeseen events we had. We are happy to tell you that we solved them, we are just unable to send b-boxes by December.
We know that many of you were hoping to receive the b-box by Christmas to give it to family and friends. Consequently, we have created this greeting card so that you'll have a little present for your loved ones on Christmas day!

Dear American Backers, in order to make sure that the wood used for your b-boxes complies with American standards and can enter your country without any problem, we have proceeded with the rearrangement of our production batch. Last touch ups to the b-box
In the past few months in many countries, the regulations on the import of wood products have changed, therefore we are working on getting the new required certifications. To avoid slowing down all shipments, we are thinking of shipping before to the countries who have not changed the regulations.
Quality control
In the past few weeks, we have been also working on the tutorial video that will teach you how to set up your b-box step by step!
Making of the tutorial video
We would like to give you a preview of the improvements of the b-box structure. In the past few months, we have been working hard on some touch-ups in order to make the b-box even more comfortable for the bees and easier to use for you.
As we have already told you in the previous update, the chimney has been redesigned so that it can now be broken down in parts in order to reduce shipping costs.
We have decreased the number of transparent boxes for the combs from 4 to 2, with the aim of improving the bees’ wellbeing and the production of honey, but the number of combs in total is the same!
To conclude, the lid will be made in wood instead of plastic to better protect the bees for extreme weather conditions (very cold winters and hot summers). It will still be possible to watch them safely thanks to the transparent boxes and the walls of the nest.
All of these improvements were the fruit of our hard work and made the price of production increase a little, but we are glad to give them to you for free and thank you for your support. We want to bring you our best hive, with all the improvements we have designed.

We are really excited to tell you about the latest news!
The production of your hives is going well! Are you ready for them?
b-box around the world
First of all, thank you for answering to the survey on the addresses. We requested numerous quotes from shipping companies and made a careful analysis.
What was the result?
Many companies apply a surcharge for packages longer than 120 cm (3,94 ft) and the chimney of your b-box alone exceeds this size! Then, we worked hard to find a solution! We have redesigned the chimney so that it can be broken down in length and you save on the shipping cost, while maintaining the same functionality.
Soon you will receive an e-mail from BackerKit in order to confirm the shipping address and make the payment.

In the meantime, we are also working on custom documents, which is precision work. Each country has its own complex rules regarding the import of materials, such as wood. As a result, some of the hives may leave in December. In any case, you will receive an email with the exact timing.
It's a complex task, but your enthusiasm for the project is giving us the energy to tackle it!
